Come build next generation products with us!

Elliot Coad Head of Development at Shortlist Media.

We’re working on brilliant things. Friendly, passionate, and inquisitive minds required.

Our Shortlist Studio team is looking for passionate creative technologists (devs & designers). We frequently have open positions ranging from intern level to senior so do get in contact to register an interest in hearing more.

In a nutshell

A creative & innovative multi-discipline team delivering brilliant products & engaging brands

From one person who works in this industry to another: I can say we’ve got a good thing going on here. This is a creative industry and your job should allow you to be so. You have the ability to come in and make it yours, from project inception to the point where you’re picking up industry awards.

We’re fairly flat in organisational structure, some people manage code, some manage people. Apathy to changing technology is of course not tolerated; our current technology stack should compare well against our larger peers.

Open positions

Midweight front-end/creative-technologist

If you describe yourself as ~45% modern JavaScript enthusiast, ~45% eye-for-design-n-make-it-look-great, and finally: ~10% all round great person to work with - then you might be curious to know we’re looking for you.

We do like to bake React in to a lot of our projects so if you haven’t used this in production we want you to have used it in a pet project or two. Alongside that, a couple of year’s usage of nice, modern, JS and CSS frameworks, a professional git workflow, and some basic terminal skills will set you will. If you can read a Gulp/Grunt/Webpack file, and have a total passion for our industry and the craft. Then email us right this second.

UI Designer

Over the coming year we’re planning a few launches; of which we’ll place a strong and creative aesthetic front and centre. We’re in the process of defining this role but do get in contact if you’d like to hear more.

Diversity and inclusion

As you are hopefully aware, both the tech and publishing industries have a problem with staff representation in this area. It should go without saying, but we strive to have the teams that make up Shortlist Media as diverse and inclusive as they should be.

Our combined backgrounds and perspectives go a long way to shaping the ingenuity of our company and its products. To put it simply - our publications cater heavily for Londoners, residents of the most diverse capital city in the world, and we’re fortunate enough to work with two of the UK’s biggest women’s brands. We need people that are passionate about creating for those audiences.
